An N330 furnace-black concentrate in PE or PP carrier, used at 2–5% addition to colour polyethylene pipe, conduit, geomembrane and film while providing UV screening. Supplied as free-flowing 2.5–3.5 mm granules in 25 kg bags.
What it does: carbon black delivers two functions at once — full hiding power and UV protection. At 2–2.5% carbon black in the finished part, most polyolefins reach the UV resistance required for outdoor pipe and geomembrane service.

Values stated for standard grades. The datasheet issued with your order takes precedence.
A furnace-black grade for colour and UV screening. It is not a conductive grade.
| Process | Typical addition | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| HDPE water pipe | 2–2.5% | Targets the 2–2.5% carbon black level commonly required for UV resistance |
| Corrugated conduit | 2–3% | Higher loading improves hiding on thin walls |
| Blown film | 2–5% | Film thickness drives the rate; thin film needs more for full opacity |
| Injection molding | 1–3% | Reduce to the minimum that still hides the substrate |
Rates assume a 40% carbon black grade.

The finished part carries roughly one third of the masterbatch loading. A 40% concentrate added at 2.5% puts about 1% carbon black into the pipe; to reach 2.5% you need either a higher-content grade or a higher addition rate. Confirm the figure with your own gravimetric check.
Yes, carbon black at 2–2.5% in the finished part screens UV radiation and is the standard approach for outdoor HDPE pipe and geomembrane. Below that level protection drops quickly.
N330 is a standard reinforcing-grade furnace black with a average primary particle size around 26–30 nm. It gives good colour strength and dispersion at moderate cost, which is why it dominates pipe and film grades. N550 is coarser and used where dispersion is difficult.
No. Conductive compounds need conductive or extra-conductive carbon black at much higher loadings, and are a different product family. Tell us the target surface resistivity and we will quote separately.
One metric ton per grade, 7–15 day production lead time. Trial quantities can be combined with other grades on one pallet.
Tell us the resin, the process, the required carbon black level and the destination port. We reply within one working day with the matching grade and an FOB price per tonne.
